Fall is officially here which means it’s time to pick our the perfect pumpkin and partake in all things pumpkin. Here are 11 pumpkin patches you must put on your list to visit. Be sure to check the farms’ website before you go in case of weather as hours may vary. Many locations also provide hours and pricing for schools and group trips during the week.
Charlotte Knights Pumpkin Patch
The Charlotte Knights 5th annual pumpkin patch will take place Saturday, October 12th from 10AM-3PM at Trust Field, 324 South Mint Street. Expect thousands of pumpkins in the outfield grass, food, drinks, pumpkin painting and more. Pumpkins are sold on a first-come, first-served. Small pumpkins are $10. Large pumpkins are $20. The event is free, and a portion of each pumpkin will benefit the Charlotte Knights Charities Foundation and its community partners.
About an hour outside of Charlotte in York, S.C., Bush-N-Vine Farm offers U-pick pumpkins, a walking trail, plus a cafe to fill up on apple cider donuts, ice cream, hot dogs and quesadillas. U-pick pumpkins begin September 28th. They are open Monday-Friday 8AM-6PM and Saturday 8AM-5PM at 1650 Filbert Highway, York, SC.
This Mooresville family farm has U-pick pumpkins by day, and transforms into a haunted attraction called Scarrigan Farms by night. Pumpkin picking begins September 23rd. Scarrigan Farms begins September 27th and will run select nights in October. Reservations for pumpkin picking are required and go until 3pm every day. It’s $15 per person and includes a pumpkin. Each trip to the pumpkin patch includes a hayride to the petting zoo and pumpkin field, per the farm. They are located at 1621 Oak Ridge Farm Highway, Mooresville, NC.
Rock Hill’s Cherry Place Farm hosts a fall festival with self-guided tours including a pumpkin patch, a two-acre corn maze, farm animals, kids’ activities and free popcorn. The fall festival runs every Saturday 10AM-6PM and Sunday 1PM-6PM in October. Admission is $10 and free for children under two. All activities (e.g., hayrides, corn maze and animal petting) are included. If you are visiting just for pumpkins, there is no admission fee. They are located at 1922 Oakdale Road, Rock Hill, SC.
Spend an entire day at Hall Family Farm by roaming through the 7-acre corn maze, going pumpkin picking, hopping on the musical hayride and eating apple cider doughnuts by a bonfire. The fall season began September 20th. Admission is free. Pumpkins are 70 cents per pound, hayrides are $4 and corn mazes are $4 and $11. They are located at 445 West Rebound Road, Lancaster, SC.
Located in east Charlotte at 3780 Rocky River Road, Hodges is a short drive for those looking to stay in the city. In addition to a pumpkin patch, expect hay bales for climbing, barn animals, photo ops, picnic areas, treats and hayrides on Saturdays and Sundays. The fall season runs September 28th-October 31st. Admission is free. Parking is $5 per car on Saturday and Sunday.
Thirty minutes from Uptown, the family-owned Dallas farm celebrates fall with a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, hayrides, chick feeding, plus 100 varieties of pumpkins, a farm store and kid’s area with tire mountains, swings, slides and more. The 2024 start date for the pumpkin patch has not been announced. Hayrides are offered daily for the month of October. The cost is $7.50 and includes a medium-sized pumpkin from the patch. They are open Monday-Friday 9AM-6:30PM, Saturday 9AM-6PM, Sunday noon-6pm at 906 Dallas Stanley Highway in Dallas, NC.
The orchard is known for its yearly tradition, the Autumn Harvest Adventure. This year, it will offer access to the pumpkin patch and sunflower field, a four-ounce apple cider slushie, pumpkin seed tasting, an apple cider demonstration, a hayride, and a meet-and-greet with baby Highland cows. The Autumn Harvest Adventure will run on Saturdays and Sundays in October. It cost $18.95 per person and free for kids under two. The Orchard is open Monday-Saturday 9AM-6PM and Sunday 1PM-5:30PM at 506 Parks Crossroads Church Road in Ramseur, NC.
Patterson Farm in Rowan County offers numerous fall attractions. There is a pumpkin market, an ice cream shop with seasonal flavors, plus a ticketed “Fall at The Farm” experience that includes access to farm activities like a playground, barnyard, train ride, corn maze and more. The fall season runs until November 2nd. The farm is open daily from 9AM-6PM at 10390 Caldwell Road in Mount Ulla, NC. The “Fall Fun on the Farm Experience” will run Monday-Friday noon-5PM and Saturday-Sunday 9AM-5PM. Tickets are required and start at $14.99 (kids two and under are free).
Admission to the farm includes a hayride to the pumpkin patch, an 8-acre corn maze and courtyard activities. There is also a haunted corn maze after dark on Fridays and Saturdays. The fall season runs until October 27th. They are open Fridays 4PM-10PM, Saturdays 10AM-10PM and Sundays 2PM-8PM at 120 Broadway Drive in Shelby, NC. Admission is $15. Dogs are allowed at the farm but must be leashed.
This Indian Trail pumpkin patch is known for its U-pick pumpkins, farm activities (like corn pits and wagon rides) and homemade pizzas, which are offered through pre-orders on the weekends. The Fall season runs until November 3rd. Reservations are required and will open September 9th. Admission is $3 per person (without pizza) or $29 for two pizzas, plus $3 per person admission. Pumpkins are 79 cents per pound and other activities cost extra. They are located at 4701 Hartis Road in Indian Trail, NC.
