One of the popular areas of Charlotte that locals and visitors frequent is the Lower South End better known as LoSo. From eateries, bars, coffee shops, gyms, shopping area, and more, LoSo is a perfect go to spot for just about anyone. You can also jump on the light rail and take a ride through the city. Here are five places to check out while you are in LoSo.
Hit the bowling lanes and play other games at Queen Park Social located at 4125 Yancey Road. There are 8 lanes for bowling and you can play games like shuffleboard, ping pong, skee ball, pop-a-shot or classic board games. You can also enjoy a meal and hang out at the bar if you like. Queen Park Social also hosts drag shows on select weekends. The next show is coming up on Sunday, July 31 with the queens of the Vanity House.
Hang out on the patio of Brewers at 4001 Yancey located at 4001-A Yancey Road. The 28,000-square-foot space houses four distinct brewing companies all under one roof. You’ll find Sixpoint, Victory Brewing Company, Southern Tier and Bold Rock Cider. 4001 Yancey is known for the music themed events and games which includes live music, music bingo, trivia type games and more. Take a breather, relax, and unwind with a coffee in hand at Land of Thousand Hills Coffee & Social located at 4015 Craft Street at NOVEL Station. The drink menu offers regular drip coffee, flavored lattes, teas, cold brew and “chills,” which are similar to a Frappuccino. When you visit and support LTH, as they are known, you become part of a community that invests in coffee farming villages to provide living wages, education, healthcare, and clean water, while celebrating the craft of specialty coffee. LTH, as they are known, can be found around the US and world-wide with its origins that began in Rwanda in the Ruli Farming Region.
Climb to higher heights at Inner Peaks located at 222 South Tryon Street. Rock climbing makes for a great date activity since it requires two people and helps build trust or its a great outing for the family. Going for a solo climb? The climbing gym also has an entire area dedicated to bouldering. Unless you already have a membership, start with a day pass for $20, harnesses and shoes are an additional $5 each. Members can bring a first-time climber for free on Fridays!
Try your best to break free by solving clues at Escape Tactic located at 130 Southside Dr. With more than 8,000 square feet of space and seven escape rooms, Escape Tactic is Charlotte’s largest escape room facility.
