With the start of the new year comes resolutions for some including exercise and alternative eating habits. Some people choose to eliminate dairy, sugar, and carbs from their diet while others choose to go completely vegan. Events such as National Pizza week, which was last week, may leave those who have chosen healthier eating options feeling excluded. Pizza is one of my favorite foods and I absolutely love cheese; however, I am currently on a detox program that eliminates all things dairy including cheese. Below are five restaurants that offer vegan options for those wishing to stick to their current diet plan. Enjoy!
Blaze Pizza has multiple locations throughout Charlotte and is one of my favorite pizza spots. Blaze is known for their build-your-own options where you can absolutely go crazy creating your pizza. They offer vegan cheese and vegan spicy chorizo, along with other vegan options on the menu to choose from.
Osteria Luca, located in the Park Road Shopping Center, offers Daiya vegan cheese. With the exception of the cauliflower gluten-free crust, their dough is also vegan. Their menu offers an array of where you can substitute their dairy cheese option for the vegan cheese.
Pure Pizza, located in 7th Street Market, offers a menu catered for vegans where they offer vegan cheese. They recommend the Mediterranean where you can trade the mozzarella for feta.
Sal’s Pizza Factory has 2 locations, one on Monroe Road and the other on Park Road. Their pizza options allow you to swap their regular cheese for the vegan cheese. They recommend the Grandma vodka sauce pizza sub vegan cheese.
Mellow Mushroom has multiple locations throughout Charlotte. They are a more popular option for restaurant goers and families. Mellow Mushroom offers Follow Your Heart Vegan cheese on their Vegan Veg Out pizza pie.
