2024 is expected to bring returning & new events and activities to the Queen City. Here are some events you can go ahead and lock in on your calendar for the year.
African American Heritage Festival: Celebrate Charlotte’s Black history and culture on February 24th from 11:00AM – 5:00PM at the Charlotte Museum of History. The event will emphasize the history and culture of Charlotte’s Black community with a special focus on education and community to celebrate the arrival of Siloam School to the museum’s campus. You can expect performances, guest speakers, panels, and community-focused events for the whole family as a means to explore the richness of African American Heritage. Free entry.
Charlotte FC Opener vs New York City Football Club: Kicking off the third season at Bank of America Stadium on February 24th at 7PM. It’s sure to be a party and celebration as the season kicks off! Ticket costs range $15-$20.
Rich & Bennett’s St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl: On March 16th, paint the town green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with Rich & Bennett’s 22nd St. Patrick’s Day bar crawl in Uptown. This event takes place rain or shine. Tickets can be purchase in advanced for $20 at prepay events, $25 online and $30 the day of. Check in will begin at 3PM (check their website for location).
Charlotte SHOUT!: The popular arts festival will return for another 17 days this spring, March 29th – April 14th in uptown. The festival weaves together the extraordinary talents of internationally and locally acclaimed artists, dancers, musicians, poets, storytellers, photographers, chefs and thought leaders. It is a feast for all the senses and all ages, serving up soulful music, tantalizing food, mind-blowing images, playful installations, inspiring performances, and bold ideas. Moo, Brew & Que Music Fest: Taking place April 12th – April 14th. Get your feel of BBQ, beer, burgers and music packed into one weekend at AvidXchange Music Factory Grounds. Taste over 50 beers while you listen to musical performances from artists like The Revivalists, Hippo Campus, and flipturn. Three-day general admission tickets are $79, main stage VIP is $129 and super VIP is $249. Tickets can be purchased on their website.
Tuck Fest: Enjoy the annual three-day outdoor festival with competitions, exhibitions, demos and live music at the U.S. National Whitewater Center, April 19th – April 21st. It’s free to enjoy live music, experience demos, explore festival vendors and spectate. Race and competition registration can be purchased on their website.
Lovin’ Life Music Fest: Listen to over 40 local and national artists performing live across three stages May 3rd – May 5th. The multi-genre festival lineup n Uptown will include popular artists like Post Malone, Noah Kahan and Stevie Nicks. Tickets start at $249.
Wells Fargo Championship: The Quail Hollow Club will once again host the Wells Fargo Championship, which is celebrating its 22nd year. This tournament has welcomed all of the world’s top golfers and drawn large crowds since its inception in 2003. Taking place May 6th – May 12th. Tickets start at $89 and are available for purchase online.
Cheerwine Festival: On May 18th, the annual festival will be packed with live entertainment, Cheerwine-inspired treats and kid-friendly activities in downtown Salisbury. The event is free to enter.
Coca-Cola 600: Start your engines for Charlotte’s signature NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 26th at 6PM. Festivities include a pre-race concert, driver appearances, military appreciation activities and performances. Tickets for adults start at $49 and ages 13 and under, are $13.
Bites on Seventh ( formerly known as Eat BLK Charlotte Food & Cultural Festival): The popular food truck and restaurant festival will return to Victoria Yards this summer. Expect food from a range of Black-owned restaurants and up-and-coming chefs plus games and music. Lineup of activities and vendors are still in the works. Check them out online if you are interested in being apart. Taking place Saturday, June 1st from 12PM-8PM.
Food Lion Taste of Charlotte: Eat your way through a weekend of food and drink samples from local restaurants June 7th-9th. You can also expect vendors, kid-friendly activities and live music along Tryon St. in Uptown. Admission is free but you will have to buy festival coins for food and drink items. Restaurant tastings range from one to three coins and drinks range from three to seven coins. A Tasting Coin Cup is $20 and comes with 14 coins.
Charlotte Pride Festival and Parade: Join thousands of people celebrating more than 20 years of LGBTQ+ pride through the streets of Uptown with a weekend of live music, vendors, food and special performances. August 17th-18th. Free to enter.
Charlotte International Arts Festival: Experience over 200 attractions through visual and performing arts from international and local creatives. Events, some of which are free, will happen in Uptown and Ballantyne. Taking place September 13th-September 29th. Cost is free to enter.
Carolina Renaissance Festival: Immerse yourself in the fictional village of Fairhaven with performance stages, hands-on games and rides, an artisan marketplace and plenty of food. The festival will take place Saturdays and Sundays, October 5th – November 24th from 9:30AM-5:30PM. Check their website for pricing.
Southern Christmas Show: Join the thousands of people at Park Expo and Conference Center for the 57th year. Shop from more than 400 vendors selling apparel, gifts, food and home decor. There will also be decked-out holiday rooms, live performances plus food and drinks. Taking place November 14th-24th. Join their email list for ticket updates.
