Recently, I had a client to ask me where are some good places to shop that are not located in a traditional mall or outlet mall. I thought what a perfect topic to share with my viewers because Charlotte really does offer some unique shopping experiences that allow you the option to do more than just shop. I hope you find this list useful. It is not inclusive of all the shopping areas but are areas that I know personally!
Atherthon Mills is located in the heart of South End. It has evolved from being known just as a retail center to one of Charlotte’s top destinations for shopping, dining, and living. It is conveniently located along the “Rail Trail”.
Phillips Place is a European Styled outdoor mall located in the South Park area of Charlotte. It is known for being an open-air retail icon in Charlotte. It offers 26 upscale shops and fine dining, including a rooftop experience at the brand-new RH Charlotte.
Metropolitan Center is located on the outskirts of uptown. It offers a variety of shopping, dining, boutiques and salons. During the spring and summer, you are bound to catch a concert while visiting the area.
Shoppes @ University Place is located in the University area. This area is popular because of the lake-like setting where you can enjoy a paddle boat ride, shop at any of the 38 retailers, partake in various dining experiences, or enjoy a nice glass of wine at The Wine Vault. There are a host of other coffee shops, ice cream shops, and eateries to choose from. Perfect for adults or children to enjoy!
Birkdale Village is located in Huntersville, NC. It is known for being a local community where people gather to listen to an outdoor band, shop, or meet for a good meal. You are bound to make a new friend when you visit the “Village”!
