The focus on things to do and places to visit is always centered around Charlotte and other major cities surrounding. I want to highlight the town in which I live, while though we are small, we have some unique places to visit and things to do. Below are five of my favorite places to visit/things to do in Harrisburg. I hope you get an opportunity to explore and support local!!
One my favorite places to hang out is the Vortex Bottle Shop. The local shop offers a chef driven menu where every meal is made to order with fresh ingredients prepared daily served tapas-style . Each meal is delivered as it is completed. No waiting. No heat lamps. Enjoy each creation at it’s freshest. They offer 18 Carolina-only tap lines, over 200 packaged beers from all over the world and 100+ wines. Vortex is my go-to for a quick meal, adult beverage and is a perfect place for me to get some work done. The ambiance, excellent service and great people are definitely worth experiencing!
There is no better way than to start your day with a nice cup of coffee. I am completely spoiled because the Rocky River Coffee Co. is practically in my back yard. I love supporting local coffee chops!! They have been serving Harrisburg and the surrounding communities since 2004. They pride ourselves on serving a high quality product alongside the best customer service. They believe coffee is the start of conversation and conversation results in community. I encourage you to try “The Rocky River”, as you won’t be disappointed.
Did you know Harrisburg has its own Farmer’s Market??!! Yes we do!! The farmers market will open early May – September. While they are not open yet, they will be very soon as the Spring months are approaching very quickly. The farmers market is located in located by the Old Post Office and General Store at Harris Depot Park:
6960 Harris Depot Road. They operate on Mondays from 3PM-6PM. This is a perfect way to support local vendors and businesses.
Do you have a sweet tooth?? The Sunflour Baking Company should definitely be on your list of places to try. Since 2017, the Sunflour Baking Company has been a local favorite in the Harrisburg neighborhood as well as for customers all around Charlotte and beyond. People all over the country order their cake jars every day! It’s a great spot to hang out, get work done, catch up with friends or enjoy some quiet time. I am sure their bright, friendly interiors and of course the pastry case is sure to bring a smile to your face.
Now that the weather is starting to warm up soon, Harrisburg Park is the perfect outdoor spot for everyone. The park offers several amenities including: 5 multipurpose soccer fields, a full service concession stand, walking / bike trails, 5 shelters available for rent, a playground, amphitheater, splash Pad, open space, and the Harrisburg Library.
